Holly and Eric were coworkers who connected on a deeper level at a work lunch. They quickly found themselves in their own little world talking and joking around. The chemistry that they had was undeniable, and even though they came from very different backgrounds they quickly found that they had a lot in common. A week following that lunch they went on a movie date after work and have been together ever since.
Holly and Eric were engaged in March 2019 and then married in January 2020. Sadly, Covid shut down the world shortly after which meant they were not able to have a normal “honeymoon period.” They also endured a few other devastating hurdles that have led them to this journey of surrogacy.
After they got married, they knew they wanted to create a family as soon as possible. A year into marriage, Holly found out she was pregnant. She was overjoyed but at their 10-week appointment, they got the devastating news that she had miscarried. They kept trying after the miscarriage for another year but with no success. Once referred to a fertility specialist they were told that she would not be able to carry a baby to term. They were devastated but knew there were other options out there for creating the family they whole heartily wanted.
In April 2022, Holly found herself in the ER with severe back pain. The diagnosis wasn’t something she was prepared to hear. She was told she had a large tumor in her chest the size of a heart and was diagnosed with Large Type B Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Thankfully before treatment started, they were able to make 4 embryos to use after her treatment was completed. After 10 months of treatment, they are so excited to say that as of February 1st, 2023, she is in complete remission!
They are excited to move forward with their dreams of creating a family and are eagerly awaiting a wonderful surrogate match.
